Interesting bookends depicting - and titled - The Indian Family unit, featuring a brave in full headdress in the eye, flanked past wife and child. Wonderful detail in the feathers, bear claw necklace and braids.I peeled the felt off of one piece, hoping to find a maker's marker underneath. No mark. And so I tin can't say who made these. But I would guess 1 of the better foundries based on the quality of the casting. Too, then, cannot say when these were fabricated, simply a reference book says ca. 1929. Information technology was upon removing the felt that I discovered the iii-piece construction design: hollow-cast metallic decorative front which is secured to the solid-cast base by 2 screws, and a flat back panel held in place by a single spiral. I took photos before I reassembled the slice, and re-glued the felt. Non sure if these are statuary or brass, but definitely not iron equally a magnet doesn't stick.Status is splendid, no damage to the metal other than some light scratches and wear to the bases. All components are secured firmly; and both pieces sit down flat and stable. Felts are what came with the pieces when I acquired the ready - they await sort of one-time just I suspect they are non original.4 3/4 inches alpine; 6 inches broad; 2 inches deep. And surprisingly heavy at 7 1/ii pounds for the pair (recollect, that base of operations is solid).Perfect gift for the collector of things Native American.US shipping only.
